Aveeno is a globally recognized skincare brand founded in 1945 by brothers Albert and Sidney Musher. The brand was built on the discovery of the soothing properties of colloidal oatmeal, which remains the signature ingredient across most of its product lines. Originally developed in partnership with the Mayo Clinic, the brand has marketed itself as a 'natural' alternative for sensitive and dry skin conditions.

Over the decades, Aveeno transitioned from a niche pharmaceutical brand to a mass-market household name. In 1999, it was acquired by Johnson & Johnson, which significantly expanded its global footprint and product variety, including the launch of sunscreens and hair care. In 2023, Johnson & Johnson spun off its consumer health division into a completely new independent company called Kenvue. Consequently, Aveeno is now owned and managed by Kenvue, which is headquartered in New Jersey, USA.

Manufacturing of Aveeno products is decentralized to serve global markets. While a significant portion of the production for the North American market takes place in the United States and Canada, specialized products like their sunscreens or facial cleansers may be manufactured in facilities in Korea or France. This distribution allows the brand to maintain its status as a leader in the global dermatological skincare market.
