Invitation à la Ferme is a French network of organic dairy farmers who process their milk directly on their own farms. This salted caramel rice pudding (Riz au Lait) is a characteristic product of this cooperative model, where each farmer, such as Jean-Michel Péard featured on the packaging, maintains autonomy while sharing a common brand and quality standards. The brand was founded in 2014 by pioneering farmers in the Loire-Atlantique region to promote local, organic, and fair-trade dairy production.
The manufacturing occurs onsite at the member farms, ensuring that the milk is processed shortly after milking without industrial transport. This 'farm-to-table' approach is central to their identity. The brand is owned by the SAS Gie Invitation à la Ferme, which is a collective owned by the farmers themselves, representing a decentralized and farmer-led business model in France.
