Sabon, originally known as Sabon Shel Pa'am, was established in 1997 in Tel Aviv, Israel, by Avi Piatok and Sigal Kotler-Levi. The brand began by selling handmade soaps based on an ancient Australian recipe. Over the years, it expanded into a premium lifestyle brand offering a wide array of bath, body, and home fragrance products, gaining international acclaim for its iconic Dead Sea salt scrubs and vintage-inspired apothecary packaging.
In 2016, a controlling stake in Sabon was acquired by the French cosmetics giant Groupe Rocher (Yves Rocher). This acquisition facilitated Sabon's global expansion while maintaining its core manufacturing operations in Israel. Today, Sabon operates as a high-end subsidiary under the Groupe Rocher umbrella, combining its Mediterranean heritage with the strategic global reach of one of France's most prominent personal care conglomerates.
