This HEMA notebook is a classic example of Dutch design paired with global manufacturing. Founded in 1926 in Amsterdam, HEMA (Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam) is one of the most iconic retail brands in the Netherlands, known for its minimalist, functional, and colorful aesthetic.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Dutch culture and maintains its design headquarters in Amsterdam, most of its products—including stationery and paper goods—are manufactured in China to maintain affordable pricing. Ownership of HEMA has changed several times in recent decades; as of 2024 and looking forward, the company is owned by a consortium consisting of the Van Eerd family (the owners of Jumbo Supermarkets) and investment firm Parcom, ensuring the brand remains under Dutch management and ownership.
