E. Wedel is one of Poland's most storied confectionery brands, with a history dating back to 1851 when it was founded by Karol Wedel in Warsaw. The brand became a national icon under the leadership of his son, Emil Wedel, and later his grandson, Jan Wedel, who built the famous factory in Warsaw's Kamionek district that still operates today.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Polish heritage and continues to manufacture its products almost exclusively in Poland to maintain its legendary quality and taste, its ownership has changed several times over the decades. After state ownership during the communist era, it was acquired by PepsiCo, then Cadbury Schweppes (later Kraft Foods).

Since 2010, the brand has been owned by the Lotte Group, a multinational conglomerate based in Japan and South Korea. Under Lotte's ownership, E. Wedel has maintained its traditional recipes and Polish production facilities while benefiting from global distribution networks.
