Horalky is a legendary peanut-filled wafer brand that holds a significant place in Central European snack culture. Originally introduced in 1965, it was created by the state-owned enterprise Pečivárne Sereď in former Czechoslovakia. The brand name is derived from the word 'Horal', meaning a mountaineer or highlander, which is reflected in the edelweiss flower featured prominently on the packaging.
Today, the product is manufactured by Sedita, which remains under the ownership of the Slovak-based I.D.C. Holding, a.s. While traditional Horalky are known as wafer bars, this specific 'Mini Šišky' (mini cones or eggs) variation represents a festive or seasonal chocolate format containing the signature peanut cream filling. The brand remains a staple in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, maintaining its status as one of the most popular local sweets in the region.
