Haribo Goldbears are one of the world's most iconic sweet treats, first created in 1922 in Bonn, Germany. The brand name itself is an acronym for the founder's name and the city of origin: HAns RIegel BOnn. Originally called Tanzbären (Dancing Bears), they evolved into the Goldbären we know today in 1960.
Haribo remains a family-owned company to this day, headquartered in Grafschaft, Germany. While the brand is deeply rooted in German tradition, its manufacturing presence has expanded globally. It operates multiple production sites across Europe (such as Germany, France, and the UK) and recently opened its first North American factory in Wisconsin to meet global demand.
