Orion is one of the most iconic confectionery brands in Central Europe, particularly in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Founded in 1896 by František Maršner in Prague, the brand began as a small candy factory and eventually grew into the famous Orion chocolate factory in Modřany. It became renowned for its high-quality chocolate and unique local recipes that have been cherished for over a century.

Today, the brand specifically caters to seasonal and traditional tastes, such as the 'Modrá Mléčná kolekce' (Blue Milk Collection) featured in the image, which is a staple during the Christmas season. While the manufacturing remains largely based in the Czech Republic at facilities like the SFINX factory in Holešov or the Zora factory in Olomouc, the brand's ownership has transitioned to a gobal level.

Orion is currently owned by the Swiss multinational Nestlé, which acquired the brand in the 1990s as part of its expansion into Eastern Europe. This partnership has allowed Orion to maintain its traditional Czech heritage while benefiting from Nestlé's global distribution and sustainability standards, such as 100% sustainable cocoa sourcing.
