Libra is one of Australia’s leading feminine hygiene brands, originally developed to provide specialized comfort and protection for women. The product shown, Libra Maternity Pads, is specifically engineered for post-natal care, featuring an extra-long, highly absorbent design to manage heavy postpartum flow.

Historically, the brand was a cornerstone of the Australian company Sancella, a joint venture between Bowater-Scott and the Swedish global hygiene giant SCA (Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget). Over several decades, corporate restructuring led the brand into the portfolio of Asaleo Care. In 2021, the global hygiene company Essity, which had already spun off from SCA and held a significant stake in Asaleo Care, successfully completed a full acquisition. Today, Libra remains a major brand under Essity’s umbrella, with a significant amount of its production continuing to take place at manufacturing facilities within Australia to serve the Oceania market.
