Berliner Luft is a famous peppermint liqueur that has become an iconic symbol of Berlin's nightlife and social culture. Often referred to by locals simply as 'Luft', its recipe is characterized by a clear, refreshing, and intense mint flavor that has remained largely unchanged since its inception.

The brand's history is deeply rooted in East Berlin. It was originally developed and produced by the state-owned enterprise VEB Getränkekombinat Berlin (specifically at the Schilkin distillery). Following the reunification of Germany, the Schilkin family successfully reclaimed their company and revitalized the brand, turning it into a nationwide success and a staple in bars and clubs across Europe.

Today, the brand remains under the ownership of Schilkin GmbH & Co. KG Berlin, which continues to manufacture the liqueur at its traditional site in the Alt-Kaulsdorf district of Berlin. The company remains an independent, family-oriented business that manages the production, bottling, and international distribution of its peppermint spirit portfolio.
