Nordsee is a historic German brand that has become synonymous with fresh seafood and quick-service dining. Founded in 1896 in Bremerhaven, the company originally began as a fishing fleet operator aimed at providing affordable fresh fish to the German population. Over the decades, it evolved from a shipping and fishing enterprise into Europe's leading seafood restaurant chain and a significant producer of retail seafood snacks and meals.

Today, Nordsee operates hundreds of locations across Europe, specializing in both over-the-counter snacks and seated dining. While its origins are deeply rooted in German maritime history, the brand has undergone several changes in ownership. Since 2018, it has been owned by Kharis Capital, an investment firm that manages the brand through its subsidiary, QSR Platform. Most of the retail products and prepared foods are sourced and manufactured in Germany and surrounding European regions to maintain freshness and quality standards.
