In 2022, a major merger was approved between MobilePay and the Norwegian payment service Vipps to create the Vipps MobilePay group. This strategic move aimed to consolidate the Nordic payment landscape and compete more effectively against global tech giants. The headquarters for the merged entity are located in Oslo, Norway.

While the brand retains its distinct Danish identity and continues to operate under the MobilePay name in Denmark and Finland, it is now part of a cross-border financial ecosystem. The platform's technical development and maintenance are handled through integrated Nordic tech hubs, primarily based in Denmark and Norway.
