Kagi is a renowned Swiss brand famous for its specialty chocolate wafers. The brand's history dates back to 1934 when Otto Kägi senior opened a small bakery in Lichtensteig, Switzerland. By 1952, the iconic Kagi fret (wafer) was developed, becoming a staple of Swiss chocolate craftsmanship.
The production remains centralized in the Toggenburg region of Switzerland, where the brand maintains its commitment to traditional recipes and high-quality Swiss raw materials. Despite its international reach, Kagi products are still manufactured in the original village of Lichtensteig, ensuring authentic Swiss quality and adherence to strict chocolate-making standards.
Today, Kagi Söhne AG is an independent Swiss company. While it was previously part of larger corporate groups throughout its history, it currently operates as a self-contained entity maintaining its heritage and specialty in the premium wafer market.
