Polar Pilsen beer

Polar Pilsen, often affectionately called 'Polarcita', is the flagship beer brand of Venezuela. Founded in 1941 by Lorenzo Alejandro Mendoza Fleury within Cervecería Polar, it has become a central cultural icon in its home country.

While historically manufactured exclusively in Venezuela, the company expanded its operations due to the Venezuelan diaspora and economic challenges. Today, Empresas Polar maintains a significant international presence, with manufacturing occurring in Venezuela for the domestic market and under license or through third-party agreements in countries like Spain (often through contracts with companies like Font Salem) and the United States to serve international demand. The brand remains under the private ownership of the Mendoza family through the Empresas Polar conglomerate.
