Steffl Pils

Steffl is a traditional Austrian beer brand named after the Stephansdom (St. Stephen's Cathedral) in Vienna. Originally brewed in the heart of Vienna, the brand has a long-standing heritage dating back to the late 19th century when it was part of the United Breweries of Schwechat. It became a staple in the Austrian beer landscape, known for its accessible pilsner style.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership shifted through corporate mergers within the Austrian brewing industry. Today, it is part of the Brau Union Österreich AG portfolio, the largest brewing group in Austria. Since 2003, Brau Union has been a subsidiary of the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V., which serves as the ultimate owner. This ownership structural allows Steffl to be exported and occasionally produced in other European markets, such as Hungary, while maintaining its identity as a classic Austrian lager.
