The International Harvester 383 is a classic utility tractor that was part of the IHC 'A-Family' of tractors. In Germany, these models were significantly manufactured at the Neuss plant. The International Harvester brand has a rich history originating in the United States, formed by the merger of McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and the Deering Harvester Company.
Over the decades, the agricultural division of International Harvester underwent major ownership changes. In 1984, the IH agricultural division was sold to Tenneco, which merged it with its Case brand to form Case IH. Today, Case IH is a global brand under CNH Industrial, a multi-national corporation headquartered in the United Kingdom. CNH Industrial remains a world leader in the capital goods sector, managing agricultural and construction equipment brands globally.
