Fendt is a prestigious German manufacturer of agricultural machinery, widely recognized for its high-tech tractors and the invention of the Vario transmission. Founded in 1930 by the Fendt brothers in Marktoberdorf, Bavaria, the brand became a symbol of German engineering excellence and reliability in the farming sector.
While Fendt was originally a family-owned company known as Xaver Fendt GmbH & Co., it was acquired in 1997 by the American global agricultural conglomerate AGCO Corporation. Despite being under American ownership, the brand maintains its deep German heritage, with its primary manufacturing facility, research and development centers, and global headquarters still located in Marktoberdorf.
