Originally developed by the Icelandic food company Nói Síríus, Tívolí production remains deeply rooted in Iceland. Nói Síríus, founded in 1920, is the leading manufacturer of confectionery in Iceland and has maintained a high standard of quality by sourcing premium ingredients for its chocolate products.

In recent years, the brand's ownership transitioned as part of a larger corporate acquisition. In 2021, the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla, through its subsidiary Orkla Confectionery & Snacks, acquired Nói Síríus. This move integrated Tívolí into one of the largest consumer goods portfolios in the Nordic region, ensuring its continued distribution and growth while maintaining its traditional Icelandic heritage.
