The FSO Warszawa M20 was the first mass-produced car in post-war Poland, manufactured by the Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (FSO) in Warsaw. Its production began in 1951 through a licensing agreement with the Soviet Union, as the car was essentially a rebadged GAZ-M20 Pobeda. This vehicle became a symbol of Polish automotive history during the mid-20th century.
The brand FSO (Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych) was a state-owned enterprise in Poland throughout the communist era. After the fall of communism, the company underwent various ownership changes, including a significant partnership with Daewoo and later ownership by the Ukrainian company AvtoZAZ. Today, while the manufacturing of FSO-branded passenger cars has ceased, the brand remains a historical landmark of Polish industrial heritage.
