Nocilla is one of Spain's most iconic food brands, first introduced to the market in 1968. Inspired by Italian cocoa spreads, it was developed by the Starlux company to cater specifically to Spanish tastes. Over the decades, it has become a staple of the Spanish diet, particularly famous for its 'two-flavor' (dual color) cocoa and milk cream variety.
Manufacturing primarily takes place in Spain, specifically at the brand's dedicated facility in Parets del Vallès, Barcelona. This localized production ensures the brand maintains its traditional recipe and quality standards that have made it a household name for generations.
The brand's ownership has transitioned through major corporate shifts. Originally a Starlux product, it later became part of the Grupo Nutrexpa portfolio. When Nutrexpa split its assets into two separate entities in 2015, Nocilla was moved under the umbrella of Idilia Foods. Today, Idilia Foods remains the ultimate owner, managing the brand from its headquarters in Valencia, Spain. The company is a leader in the Spanish cocoa and breakfast category, also owning other major brands like ColaCao.
