Muratti is a historic cigarette brand with a pan-European heritage. It was originally established in Istanbul (then Constantinople) in 1821 by the Greek trader Basil Muratoglou, making it one of the oldest cigarette brands in the world.
Following the tobacco monopoly in the Ottoman Empire, the company relocated to Western Europe, specifically to Germany and the United Kingdom, where it gained a reputation for premium quality. Over the decades, the brand's trademarks were acquired by different entities.
Today, the international rights to Muratti are largely held by Philip Morris International (PMI). Due to its status as a global brand, Muratti cigarettes are manufactured in multiple countires, including PMI's facilities in Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, to serve diverse markets across Europe and the Middle East.
