The iconic bat logo was inspired by the fruit bats residing in the rafters of the original distillery. Following the Cuban Revolution, the company moved its operations and is now headquartered in Bermuda.

While the brand has Cuban roots, it is produced in several locations across the globe to meet international demand. Major production hubs include Puerto Rico (the largest premium rum distillery in the world) and Mexico. Bacardí remains a family-owned entity through Bacardi Limited, making it the largest privately held, family-owned spirits company in the world. It oversees a massive portfolio of spirits including Grey Goose, Martini, and Dewar's.
