Ferreira is one of the most prestigious Port wine brands, founded in 1751 by a family of winemakers from the Douro region. The 'Dona Antónia' line specifically honors Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, a legendary figure in the history of Port wine who took over the company in the 19th century and became an icon of Portuguese entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

The wine is produced in Northern Portugal, within the Douro Demarcated Region, and aged in oak casks at the Ferreira lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. Since 1987, the brand has been part of the Sogrape portfolio, a major Portuguese family-owned company that expanded the brand's international reach while maintaining its traditional Winemaking heritage.
