Royal Family Red Bean Mochi is a popular confectionery produced by Royal Family Food Co., Ltd. Despite being marketed as 'Japanese Style Mochi' (日式糯米糍), the brand originated in Taiwan. The product consists of soft, chewy glutinous rice cakes filled with sweet red bean paste.
The company was established in Nantou, Taiwan, in the late 1980s and has since grown into one of the largest mochi manufacturers globally. They leverage traditional Japanese techniques combined with automated Taiwanese manufacturing. The brand remains under the ownership of its founding family-led enterprise, Royal Family Food, which operates the Taiwan Mochi Museum and exports to over 40 countries.
