Kenco is an iconic British coffee brand with a heritage dating back to 1923, when it was originally founded as the Kenya Coffee Company. Over several decades, it established itself as a staple in the UK market. The Tassimo single-serve system, which uses the proprietary 'T-Disc' technology, was originally launched by Kraft Foods to provide a high-quality home brewing experience.
Today, Kenco and the Tassimo brand are managed under the umbrella of JDE Peet's, which was formed through the merger of Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Peet's Coffee. While the Kenco brand has British roots, the T-Discs are manufactured in various European facilities, primarily in Germany and Slovakia, where JDE Peet's maintains large-scale production plants for its beverage technologies. Ownership of the brand rests with JDE Peet's, a multinational conglomerate headquartered in the Netherlands and predominantly owned by the investment firm JAB Holding Company.
