Krušovice, also known as the Royal Brewery of Krušovice (Královský pivovar Krušovice), is one of the oldest breweries in the Czech Republic, founded in 1581. It gained royal status in 1583 when it was purchased by Emperor Rudolf II. The brand is celebrated for its traditional Czech brewing methods, utilizing Saaz hops, Moravian barley, and spring water from the Křivoklát woods.
While the brand maintains its deep Bohemian roots and primary manufacturing facilities in the Czech Republic, it has seen several changes in ownership over the centuries. In 2008, the brewery was acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. Today, Krušovice operates as a significant brand within Heineken's international portfolio, benefitting from global distribution while preserving its heritage as a quintessential Czech pilsner.
