Caotina is a premium brand of Swiss drinking chocolate, famous for its smooth texture and rich chocolate flavor. It was originally launched in 1963 by Wander AG, a company with deep roots in Swiss nutritional science and the creator of the famous Ovomaltine.
The product is primarily manufactured in Neuenegg, Switzerland, though distribution and local subsidiary management are handled across Europe, including sites in Germany, Austria, and Belgium. The brand is positioned as a high-quality alternative to standard cocoa mixes, often incorporating real Swiss chocolate into its powder formulas.
Since 2002, Wander AG and its flagship brand Caotina have been owned by Associated British Foods (ABF), a global food, ingredients, and retail group. Despite this change in ownership, production remains centered in Switzerland to maintain the brand’s authentic 'Swiss Made' status.
