Distel (Distell) Beverages

Distell Group Holdings, known for iconic brands such as Savannah, Amarula, and Nederburg, is a central figure in the global beverage industry with deep roots in South Africa. The brand's history is tied to the 2000 merger between Stellenbosch Farmers' Winery and Distillers Corporation.

Starting in 2023 and solidifying through 2024, the brand underwent a massive transformation when it was acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. This acquisition led to the formation of Heineken Beverages, a powerhouse that combines Distell's spirits and wine expertise with Heineken's global brewing scale. Today, while much of the heart of production remains in the Western Cape of South Africa, the brand is managed as part of a global portfolio headquartered in the Netherlands.
