Noordhoff Education

Noordhoff is a premier educational publisher based in the Netherlands, with a legacy dating back to the 19th century. The brand was established through the merger of two historic publishing houses: P. Noordhoff and J.B. Wolters, both of which were founded in the mid-1800s in Groningen.

Today, Noordhoff is recognized as the leading provider of educational resources for primary, secondary, vocational, and higher education in the Dutch market. While its roots are deeply Dutch, the company has evolved through various international mergers and acquisitions over the decades.

As of the mid-2020s, Noordhoff is part of the Infinitas Learning group. Infinitas is a major European player in educational technology and publishing, owned by the private equity firm Compass Partners. The company remains headquartered in Utrecht and continues to produce the vast majority of its printed and digital materials specifically for the Dutch educational system.
