The BeBook One is a legacy E-reader device that gained popularity in the late 2000s as one of the first open-format alternatives to the Amazon Kindle. The brand was established by the Dutch company Endless Ideas, headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands. While the brand was European, the hardware itself was based on the Hanlin V3 design, which was manufactured by Tianjin Jinke Digital Co., Ltd in China.
Endless Ideas filed for bankruptcy in 2012, leading to the discontinuation of the BeBook product line. The parent company's assets were largely dissolved, and there is no active ultimate owner company currently producing or supporting the brand in the contemporary market. This specific model is recognized for its physical navigational buttons and its ability to support a wide range of document formats without DRM restrictions.
