While the brand was originally born in the Czech Republic, its manufacturing operations are now spread across multiple countries in Central Europe to ensure product freshness. It is a key subsidiary of the Agrofert conglomerate, which manages a vast domestic and international supply chain ranging from agriculture and food processing to chemical production. The brand maintains a dominant market share in the Czech and Slovak markets, operating dozens of bakeries and mills to supply major retail chains.

Ownership of Penam remains under the umbrella of Agrofert, a massive holding company founded by Andrej Babiš. Agrofert oversees the entire lifecycle of the product, from the grain produced on its farms to the final flour milled and bread baked in its facilities. This vertical integration allows Penam to maintain consistent production standards across its diverse range of bakery and mill products.
