Sanbittèr is a legendary non-alcoholic bitter aperitif that has been a staple of Italian culture since its introduction in 1961. Originally launched as 'Bitter Analcolico', it was the first non-alcoholic beverage of its kind in Italy, designed to offer the complex, herbal flavors of a traditional bitter without the alcohol content. It is widely recognized by its vibrant red color and its iconic small glass bottle.
The brand was created by the Sanpellegrino company, which is based in San Pellegrino Terme. Today, Sanpellegrino—and by extension Sanbittèr—is a key part of the Nestlé international portfolio. Despite being part of a global conglomerate, the product remains deeply tied to its roots, with production primarily taking place in Italy to maintain its authentic flavor profile consisting of citrus and alpine herb extracts.
