Koh-i-noor Hardtmuth is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious manufacturers of stationery and art supplies. Founded in 1790 by Joseph Hardtmuth in Vienna, the company moved its production to České Budějovice in 1848, where it remains headquartered today. The brand is famously credited with inventing the modern pencil lead made from a mixture of graphite and clay.
Today, the brand is part of the KOH-I-NOOR holding a.s., owned by the Bříza family. While the brand has global distribution and some international production facilities, most of its core products, including these office coloured pencils, are proudly manufactured in the Czech Republic. The brand is a symbol of Czech industrial heritage and continues to be a staple in both offices and art studios worldwide.
