Gorenje is a prominent household appliance brand with deep roots in Slovenia, having been established in 1950 in the village of Gorenje. Originally a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, the company evolved into a major European player in the white goods sector, specializing in large and small kitchen appliances.
Over the decades, Gorenje became a symbol of European engineering and design. However, in 2018, the brand underwent a significant ownership shift when it was acquired by the Hisense Group. While Gorenje maintains significant manufacturing hubs and its headquarters in Velenje, Slovenia, many of its smaller appliances, such as electric kettles, are now produced in high-efficiency manufacturing facilities in China under the oversight of Hisense's global supply chain.
Today, Gorenje operates as a key brand within the Hisense portfolio, blending its European design heritage with the global manufacturing scale of its Chinese parent company. This partnership allows the brand to remain competitive in the global market while maintaining its established reputation for quality in the European home appliance market.
