Verde Campo is a prominent Brazilian dairy brand founded in 1999 in Lavras, Minas Gerais. It became a pioneer in the 'clean label' movement in Brazil, focusing on natural ingredients and products free from preservatives or artificial dyes. The brand gained significant popularity with its 'Natural Whey' line, catering to the health and fitness market.
In 2016, the brand was acquired by Coca-Cola Femsa and The Coca-Cola Company. However, in April 2024, a major shift occurred when the Brazilian dairy giant Laticínios Porto Alegre (which is controlled by the Swiss group Emmi) announced the acquisition of Verde Campo from Coca-Cola. This transaction reflects the strategic consolidation of the dairy market in Brazil, placing the brand under the ultimate ownership of the Emmi Group, while maintaining its strong local production roots in Minas Gerais.
