De Dietrich is one of France's oldest and most prestigious industrial brands, with a heritage dating back to 1684. Originally focused on ironworking and forestry, the brand evolved over centuries into a household name for high-end kitchen appliances and heating systems.

Today, the De Dietrich consumer appliance brand is managed by Brandt France (part of Groupe Brandt). The manufacturing predominantly takes place in France, specifically at multiple industrial sites dedicated to oven, hob, and hood production. This commitment to local manufacturing has earned many of their products the 'Origine France Garantie' label.

Ownership of the brand name is complex: while the industrial and heating divisions remained with the founding family or merged into BDR Thermea, the domestic appliance division (Groupe Brandt) was acquired by the Algerian conglomerate Cevital Group in 2014. This acquisition allowed the brand to maintain its French manufacturing roots while benefiting from the investment power of a larger international group.
