TP-Link is a preeminent global provider of consumer and business networking products, originally founded in 1996 in Shenzhen, China, by brothers Zhao Jianjun and Zhao Jiaxing. The brand name was derived from 'twisted pair', a type of electromagnetic cabling. It has grown to become the world's leading provider of WLAN devices, maintaining manufacturing facilities primarily in China while operating a dual-headquarters model to support its international expansion.
In a significant corporate restructuring, TP-Link separated its global operations from its Chinese domestic operations. This led to the formation of TP-Link Global HK Ltd. and TP-Link Corporation PTE. Ltd. (based in Singapore) to manage international markets. This strategic move was designed to optimize the brand's global supply chain and corporate governance, ensuring that TP-Link products remain competitive and accessible to a worldwide customer base through an extensive network of regional subsidiaries and local distributors.
