Samson Ležák is a traditional Czech lager brewed in the historic city of České Budějovice. The brewery, Pivovar Samson, is one of the oldest in the region, with roots dating back to the late 18th century. It produces classic Czech-style pilsners characterized by high-quality local ingredients, including Saaz hops and soft artesian water from local wells.
While the brewery shares a geographic legacy with other famous Budweis brands, it has maintained its distinct identity through various name changes and historical shifts. Today, the brewery operates as a modern facility while adhering to traditional brewing methods that have defined the South Bohemian beer culture for centuries.
Since 2014, the brewery has been under the ownership of AB InBev, the world's largest brewing company. This acquisition provided Samson with significant logistical and financial support, allowing the brand to expand its reach beyond the Czech market while maintaining its authentic manufacturing base in České Budějovice.
