Nestea is a globally recognized brand of iced tea and cold beverage mixes, originally created by the Swiss food and beverage giant Nestlé in the late 1940s. For many years, the brand was managed through a joint venture between Nestlé and The Coca-Cola Company called Beverage Partners Worldwide (BPW). This partnership allowed Nestea to reach consumers in over 50 countries, leveraging Nestlé's product expertise and Coca-Cola's extensive distribution network.
In 2017, Nestlé and Coca-Cola ended their joint venture in most markets. Following this split, Nestlé regained full control of the Nestea brand worldwide. Currently, the product is manufactured in various locations across Europe and North America to serve local markets, often through bottling agreements with regional partners such as Maspex in Central and Eastern Europe. The brand continues to focus on natural flavors and sustainable sourcing, often featuring the Rainforest Alliance certification on its packaging.
