Griffin's is an iconic New Zealand brand with a history dating back to 1864 when John Griffin first began baking biscuits and confectionery in Nelson. Over the decades, it evolved into the country's leading biscuit manufacturer, known for household staples such as MallowPuffs, Gingernuts, and Cookie Bear biscuits.

Historically, the brand has seen several changes in ownership, moving from the founding family to international conglomerates. It was owned by Nabisco for much of the late 20th century before being acquired by Danone. Following a period under the private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners, it was eventually sold to major international food producers. Currently, it is a key part of the LOTTE conglomerate, specifically under the LOTTE Wellfood division, which has helped expand its distribution across the Asia-Pacific region.

While the brand is now under South Korean ownership, much of the production remains rooted in its home country. Griffin's continues to operate significant manufacturing facilities in New Zealand, maintaining its status as a local cultural icon while leveraging the global reach of its parent company.
