Eixo do Mal (translated as "Axis of Evil") is a prominent Portuguese television program specializing in political commentary and current affairs analysis. The show was originally created in 2004 as a collaboration between the SIC Noticias channel and the production company Produções Fictícias. It typically features a panel of four resident commentators who discuss the most relevant national and international news of the week.
The program is produced exclusively within Portugal and has become a staple of Portuguese political discourse. For many years, it aired on SIC Notícias, becoming one of the channel's most recognized and longest-running formats. In early 2019, the show transitioned its broadcast to the SIC flagship channel and later maintained its presence within the SIC network's digital and cable ecosystem.
The brand is under the ultimate ownership of Impresa, Portugal's largest media conglomerate. Impresa owns the SIC television network as well as various prestigious publications like the newspaper Expresso. The group is headquartered in Paço de Arcos, Portugal, and remains the primary driver behind the show's production and distribution.
