SunRype is an iconic Canadian brand founded in 1946 in Kelowna, British Columbia, within the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Originally established as a cooperative of fruit growers known as BC Fruit Processors Ltd., the brand was created to process and market the surplus apples grown in the region. Over the decades, SunRype expanded its portfolio beyond apple juice to include a wide variety of fruit juices, snacks, and fruit-based products, becoming a household name across North America.
The product shown is produced in Canada, primarily utilizing facilities in British Columbia and Ontario. In 2020, SunRype underwent a major ownership change when it was acquired from the Lassonde Industries Inc. and the previously controlling Jim Pattison Group. It is currently under the ultimate ownership of Lassonde Industries Inc., a major North American player in the juice and food industry. This acquisition allowed the brand to leverage broader distribution networks while maintaining its Canadian heritage and focus on natural fruit ingredients.
