Zoflora is a historic British brand of concentrated disinfectant that was originally founded in 1922 by Nathan Thornton and Philip Ross in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The product was revolutionary at its launch for providing a germ-killing solution with a pleasant, perfumer-developed fragrance, moving away from the harsh chemical smells common at the time. Today, Zoflora remains a household staple in the UK and is widely recognized for its diverse range of high-quality scents and effective antibacterial properties.
The brand is manufactured at its dedicated production and packing facility in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, which has received significant investment to keep up with modern demand. In 2013, the parent company Thornton & Ross was acquired by the German pharmaceutical giant STADA Arzneimittel AG. Under STADA's ownership, the Huddersfield site has become a 'Centre of Excellence' for over-the-counter products, ensuring that while the brand has global backing, its manufacturing and heritage remain firmly rooted in the United Kingdom.
