Nudossi and Gustibus are prominent German spread brands, particularly famous in Eastern Germany for their rich hazelnut and specialty nut content. Nudossi, often referred to as the 'Nutella of the East,' was originally developed in the late 1960s in Radebeul, Saxony. It gained popularity for its high hazelnut percentage (36%), which was significantly higher than international competitors. Today, Nudossi is produced by the Saxon confectionery manufacturer Vadossi (Sächsische und Dresdner Back- und Süßwaren GmbH & Co. KG).
Gustibus is another specialized brand under the same corporate umbrella, focusing on premium nut creams like the Pistarien-creme (pistachio cream) seen in the image. Both brands emphasize traditional German confectionery craftsmanship and have successfully expanded their market presence since the reunification of Germany. The products are manufactured locally in Dresden or Radebeul, Saxony, maintaining a strong 'Made in Germany' pedigree. Ownership remains within the Hartmann family, who successfully revitalized the brand in the post-reunification era.
