Hampstead Tea was founded in London, England, in 1995 with a focus on ethical sourcing and biodynamic farming. The brand is deeply connected to the Makaibari Tea Estate in India, which was the first tea estate to be certified biodynamic in the world.

While the tea leaves are sourced from premium biodynamic gardens (primarily India), the final blending and packaging are conducted in the United Kingdom. The brand emphasizes plastic-free packaging and the use of unbleached chlorine-free tea bags.

Today, Hampstead Tea continues to operate as an independent brand under its original UK-based company structure, maintaining its commitment to Fairtrade standards and organic certification.
