Super Bock Stout is a dark, black beer launched in 2003 as a variant of the iconic Super Bock brand. It is characterized by its creamy foam and a balanced flavor profile of sweetness and bitterness, derived from a selection of special malts. The brand itself has a long history dating back to 1927 when it was first introduced as a 'winter beer' in Portugal.

Production is centered at the Super Bock Group's state-of-the-art facility in Leça do Balio, near Porto, Portugal. This site is one of the most advanced brewing centers in Europe and supports the brand's position as the best-selling Portuguese beer worldwide, with presence in over 50 countries.

The brand is owned by the Super Bock Group (formerly Unicer), which is a joint venture. As of 2026, the ownership remains divided between the Portuguese holding company Viacer (holding 56%) and the Danish brewing giant Carlsberg Group (holding 44%). Notably, Carlsberg also holds an indirect stake through Viacer, giving it significant influence over the brand's international strategy while maintaining its strong Portuguese heritage.
