Mihalkovo Naturally Aerated Mineral Water

Mihalkovo is one of the most prestigious and historic mineral water brands in Bulgaria, known for its unique naturally aerated (carbonated) mineral water. The water originates from a spring located at a depth of 70 meters near the village of Mihalkovo in the Western Rhodope Mountains. It was first discovered in 1936 and has been bottled for commercial sale since 1956, making it a staple of Bulgarian hydration for decades.

The bottling process is managed by the Mihalkovo AD enterprise, which operates modern facilities right at the source to ensure the natural carbon dioxide levels and mineral composition are preserved. Unlike many other sparkling waters where gas is added artificially, Mihalkovo is famous for emerging from the ground already effervescent. The brand remains under independent Bulgarian ownership, focusing on sustainable extraction and maintaining its legacy as a provider pulses of the Rhodope mountains.
