MobilePay mobile payment solution

MobilePay is a leading mobile payment application originally developed in Denmark to simplify person-to-person money transfers and retail payments. Since its inception, it has become a cornerstone of the Nordic digital economy, expanding its reach across Northern Europe.

In early 2023, MobilePay completed a significant merger with the Norwegian payment service Vipps to create Vipps MobilePay. This strategic union combined two of the most successful payment platforms in Scandinavia. While the brand originated within Danske Bank in Denmark, it is now part of a larger international group aimed at standardizing mobile payments across borders.

Today, the platform is owned by the Vipps MobilePay group, which is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. This entity is collectively owned by a consortium of Norwegian banks and Danske Bank, ensuring the brand remains firmly rooted in the Nordic banking infrastructure while leveraging regional scale to compete with global tech giants.
