Junkers is a German watch brand that draws its inspiration from the historic Junkers aircraft company and the Bauhaus movement. The brand was originally developed through a long-term licensing agreement with PointTec Electronic GmbH, a company based in Ismaning near Munich. This partnership brought the legendary name of Hugo Junkers into the world of horology, emphasizing military, aviation, and minimalist aesthetics.
In recent years, the brand ownership underwent a significant shift. The Junkers family decided to manage the brand themselves under the newly formed company, Junkers Uhren GmbH. While the original licensee, PointTec, continues to produce other brands like Iron Annie and Zeppelin, the Junkers name remains under the direct oversight of the founder's descendants. Manufacturing primarily takes place in Germany, maintaining the 'Made in Germany' seal of quality that characterizes their mechanical and quartz timepieces.
