Guylian is a world-renowned Belgian chocolatier most famous for its sea shell-shaped pralines. The company was founded in 1958 by Guy Foubert, who combined his first name with that of his wife, Liliane, to create the brand name. Since its inception, the brand has been deeply rooted in Belgian chocolate-making traditions, emphasizing high-quality ingredients like Mediterranean hazelnuts and fair-trade cocoa.
All Guylian products are manufactured at the brand's main production site in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to local confectionery standards. In 2008, the original family business was acquired by the South Korean multinational Lotte Confectionery (now known as Lotte Wellfood), which serves as the ultimate owner. Despite the change in ownership, the brand maintains its headquarters and production facilities in Belgium to preserve its authentic 'Belgian Premium' identity.
